Board Members

Brian Carson - President
Mr. Carson was appointed to the Board in 2014 and elected to the seat in 2015. Carson and his wife, Holly, have lived in Galion since 1997 and have developed a strong sense of community. The couple's daughter is a student at Galion High, and they have been very active in volunteering during their time in and around Galion. Since 2002, Brian has owned an insurance agency in Shelby. Prior to business ownership, he served 13 years as a Sergeant and Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Jennifer Kuns - Vice President
Mrs. Kuns was elected to the Board in November 2009 and began her four-year term on January 1, 2010. Mrs. Kuns was a realtor for ten years, and is currently an Administrative Officer with United Bank in Galion. She is active with the Galion Basketball Parents, Galion Board of Realtors, Hands and Hearts Club, Galion Chamber of Commerce, and a member of St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Kuns, along with her husband, Scott have three children that have attended the Galion City Schools.

Dennis Long - Board Member
Mr. Long was elected to the Board with his term beginning in January of 2008 through 2011. Mr. Long has owned and operated Long Insurance Agency in Galion for the past 25 years. He is a member of Galion Kiwanis, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and the First Lutheran Church. Mr. Long and his wife, Cindy, have two daughters.

Brian Owens - Board Member 
Mr. Owens was elected to the Board in November of 2011. He is a current member of the 179th Air National Guard, Mansfield Lahm Airport, joining the United States Air Force in 1995. He also is involved in a multitude of youth sports as well as volunteering as a football coach on many levels. Mr. Owens is currently attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University, seeking a Bachelors of Business Administration. He also serves as a board member to Galion Youth Football, Galion Youth Football Equipment Custodian and Secretary. Mr. Owens is also involved in the Wounded Warrior Fund. He and his wife Angie are Galion Graduates and have two children that attend the Galion City Schools.

Grant Garverick - Board Member
Mr. Garverick was elected to the Board November, 2015 and began his first four-year term January 1, 2016. He is a 1981 graduate of Galion High School, a 1985 graduate of Ohio State University (B.A. with honors), and 1988 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Law (J.D.). He currently practices law in Galion. Mr. Garverick is involved in many civic organizations throughout the community. He and his wife, Margaret, live in Galion with their daughter, Gillian, who is currently a high school senior.  Their older daughter, Maddy, graduated from Galion in 2014 and is currently pursuing a degree at the Ohio University in Athens Ohio.

Fifth grade students from Galion Intermediate School took on several fundraising projects throughout the 2016-2017, with the largest project being to raise money for the Humane Society serving Crawford County. more
