Galion Intermediate's Stark selected as Teacher of the Month

April 15, 2019

Galion Intermediate School fifth grade teacher Sue Stark was selected as the Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month for March 2019.

The educational recognition programs sponsored by the Ohio Lottery provide opportunities to recognize the outstanding classroom achievements of students and teachers. Stark was selected as the nominee for several reasons.

“We nominated Mrs. Stark back in the Fall because of the work she does serving our students and for the work she did to present at the OCALI Conference,” Intermediate School Principal Alex Sharick said. “She's committed and willing to learn and grow as an educator.”

Mrs. Stark is always reading and looking for new ways to engage her students every day. She teaches fifth grade English Language Arts and, according to Sharick, is invested in making strides towards achievement.

“I feel very honored to be nominated and selected as the Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery,” Stark said. “I work with an incredible team of teachers and staff and have incredible students who remind me every day that I made the best choice in becoming a teacher!”

For being recognized as a Teacher of the Month, Stark will receive an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery along with a gift card.

“Teachers make a tremendous impact on our students,” Superintendent Jim Grubbs said. “When teachers go the extra mile to help improve the lives of their students in and out of the classroom, recognition is warranted and, in Mrs. Stark’s case, well deserved.”
