The Galion City Schools Board of Education approved a new leader for Galion High School during its regular board meeting on Tuesday, June 15. Ms. Tasha Stanton, who most recently served in the same role for the Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools, takes over for Mr. Ron Williams, who will be the new Academic Support & Student Opportunities Specialist. Stanton is the first female principal in the history of Galion High School.
The Galion City Schools, in partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, will hold the Crawford County Mobile Drive-Thru Pantry event on the district's campus on Wednesday, June 30.
The Galion City Schools, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, is looking for community volunteers to help distribute food to families in need during upcoming Mobile Food Pantry events on June 30, July 20, August 11, and September 8. The total time commitment will be approximately 2.5 hours per pantry from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The Galion City Schools is excited to announce that Mr. Ryan Stover has been selected as the new head boys basketball coach for the Tigers. Stover has been serving as a Varsity Assistant and Freshman Coach at River Valley since 2019. Prior to his time with the Vikings, he was the Varsity Head Coach for the Mt. Gilead Girls Basketball program from 2016-2019.
