The Galion City School District, in partnership with the USDA and the Ohio Department of Education, is sponsoring a Summer Food Service Program in Galion this summer.
The Galion City School District hosted its annual staff appreciation breakfast in the High School cafetorium May 24. The district honored an array of staff members for their years of care and commitment to the children of the Galion community.
The 2017 graduating class of Galion High School will receive their diplomas in the High School gymnasium at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019. A total of 113 Galion seniors will be moving on to the next stage of their lives.
The Galion City School District is excited to announce its partnership with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. This new partnership will allow families of Galion students to complete and sign all beginning of the year forms and athletic participation forms for their students.

Galion senior Kiersten Gifford and junior Kacie Runyon were chosen as the 2019 Crawford County BEST Award winners for Galion High School. Gifford and Runyon, along with educators Mrs. Amy Tyree and Mr. Bobby Gossom, were recognized during the annual celebration at Pioneer Career and Technology Center May 1.
The Galion Intermediate, Middle School, and High School bands will host the annual spring concert and chicken BBQ fundraiser Saturday, May 11. The event will begin with meals being served at 4:30 p.m. and live music starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Galion High School gymnasium and cafetorium.
Oakstone Landscape, a family owned Galion business, donated its time and expertise to plant new trees throughout the campus of the Galion City School District to celebrate Earth Day May 3. The idea of donating and planting trees on the district’s campus is a dream realized by Oakstone Landscape owner Ben Perkins since he started his business more than a decade ago.
