March 27, 2020 USDA Lifts the Requirement

We are no longer required to hand food directly to a child.  If you have children ages 1-18 who would like food delivered, we can now hand the food to an adult to take it to their children.  If you have not signed up yet and would like to, you can fill in the form below. Meals will continue to be delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of next week.

March 19 New Delivery Information

Starting Monday, March 23, we will begin delivering on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Each day (2)Meals will be handed to each child. This will keep our traffic down and allow us to provide an extra meal for Saturday.

Beginning March 17, 2020 we are very proud to be able to deliver breakfast and lunch during the 3 week closure. It will not cover Spring Break.

This is a FREE program for all children ages 1-18.

Sunday, March 15, 2020

Members of the GEA, OAPSE, and Galion City Schools administration are collaborating in an effort to support our Galion students and families. Our goal is to not only support our students academically but, to ensure food is available to assist our students and families for at least the next three weeks.

Starting Monday, March 16, 2020 the Galion City Schools team will be collecting non-perishable items that will be donated to local pantries.  Items may be dropped off at GHS, GMS, GIS, or GPS. Buildings will be open on Monday from 11:00am - 3:00pm or Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00am - 12:00pm.  Items may also be dropped off at the Administrative building Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 3:00pm.

Galion City Schools food service and transportation departments are also collaboratively working to deliver meals throughout the city beginning Tuesday for children ages 1-18.

We take pride in our daily efforts to care for our students and are happy to do what we can to support them during this time.  Our deepest appreciation is extended in advance to those willing to assist us by donating items.
