Staff Spotlight: Welcoming Our New Social Work Specialist
Galion City Schools is thrilled to introduce a new face to our support team — our very first Social Work Specialist! Welcome to the Tiger Family Ashley!! This newly created role was designed to provide dedicated mental health and social-emotional support to our students and families. We’re proud to welcome a passionate and driven professional who brings not only academic expertise but also a heart for connection and student well-being.
A graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University, she holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's in Biology — a powerful combination that allows her to approach student care from both a psychological and scientific perspective. Her background equips her to help students navigate emotional and academic challenges with empathy, clarity, and purpose.
Outside of work, she brings vibrant energy to everything she does. A proud “plant mom” with a love for nature, mountains, and anything adventurous. When she’s not working out or blasting music, you’ll likely find her lost in the pages of old Farmer’s Almanacs. Her bucket list? Wandering through the misty highlands of Scotland. We are beyond excited to have her join the Galion family — her courage to climb is already inspiring us all.

The secret is out… meet Radar, the newest (and furriest!) member of our Galion family! 🐶💙 All week long, last week, the staff at Galion Primary dropped clues about a new staff member joining us for the 2025-2026 school year — and during Friday’s lunches, students got a sneak peek at his adorable face! Radar is a 2-year-old Labrador and a certified School Facility Dog who will be based at Galion Primary School. After nearly two years of training, Radar is ready to provide emotional and academic support to our students, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him! In June, four staff members, Kirstie Naumoff, Lisa Perry, Madison Skinner, and Sam Staton, will attend an intensive training with Radar to help him get settled and ready for the school year. 🐾📚 A huge thank you to the Galion Community Education Foundation for helping make this paws-itively awesome addition possible! 🙌🐾 Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing more updates throughout the summer and in August as Radar joins our team! #MeetRadar #SchoolFacilityDog #GalionPrimary #FurryFaculty #GalionTigers #ThanksGCEF #RadarOnDuty #SupportAndSuccess
