Thank you to all parents of Intermediate students and our amazing staff members from all buildings who jumped in to help us today as we had to evacuate one of our buildings. 5 day week...we got this!!!

A district-wide lockdown drill will take place on our campus on Monday, August 19th at 2:15 PM. This is an annual event to review safety procedures with all students and staff. Our technology team will use this drill to ensure the Centegix Crisis Alert system works properly. There may be extra emergency vehicles on campus during this time.

We had an amazing turn out for our 2024-25 Open House tonight. Thank you for attending! Families were able to meet teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, pick up schedules, try out lockers, and sign up for several school activities. Thank you PTO, Key Club, Teen Institute, and many more organizations for sharing information with our community. We appreciate all our teachers and staff members who stayed to greet our families. Don't forget tomorrow is a 2-hr delay! Get some sleep and we will see you here in the morning. It's a great day to be a TIGER!

Don’t miss your opportunity to meet teachers, principals, and bus drivers on August 14th. We have staggered start times so families can visit multiple buildings. Primary School 4:00-6:00 Intermediate School 4:30-6:30. Middle and High Schools are both 5:00-7:00. Freshmen and New Student Orientation will be in the gym.

Galion High School is pleased to announce two new principals for the new school year. Mr. Don Vogt joined us from Ridgedale, where he was the junior high/high school principal. He brings extensive experience in teaching, coaching, and administration. Mr. Vogt looks forward to meeting each teacher, staff, and student and is eager for the school year to get started. Miss Calli Bauer, a 2014 graduate of Galion High School, has been working at the Middle School as an Intervention Specialist. We are excited to bring her into the assistant principal role this year. Miss Bauer has shown tremendous leadership in several of our district’s initiatives and will continue to coach Varsity Softball. We look forward to working with Mr. Vogt and Miss Bauer this year. Thank you for the continuous support of all our staff and students.

Galion Intermediate School is pleased to introduce Mr. Matt Dick as the new principal this year. Mr. Dick moves across campus from Galion High School where he has been the assistant principal for the past four years. Mr. Dick and his wife Sara have five children attending school in Galion. Sara is an Intervention Specialist in the district as well. Mr. Dick, or Coach Dick as many refer to him, has been the head coach of our varsity football team for the past 8 years and will continue to coach this season. Please welcome him to the GIS Team and GO TIGERS!

Exciting news for Tiger Families... ALL students will receive FREE breakfast and lunch under the Community Eligibility Program (CEP)!! We will be piloting this program for the 2024-2025 school year and have the opportunity to continue to participate for 3 more years! Save time and money knowing your child/children are enjoying nutritious, well balanced meals at school each day. Don't miss the Second Harvest Mobile Drive-Thru Food Pantry on July 30 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.! In effort to keep our students safe and our parking lots free during dismissal, we have a new distribution location set up on our campus. Vehicles will not be permitted to enter campus until 3:00 p.m. Once school is back in session, we ask that all buses be given the right-of -way. Ohio has extended its annual tax free weekend to 10 days! July 30-August 8, shoppers can get all their Back-to-School items for a little less money.
