It’s time for the Galion Fiscal Focus! Did you know that our district receives 23.5% of our yearly revenue from local real estate taxes and over 70% from other State sources? According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, property tax, a tax on Real Property, is one of the oldest taxes in Ohio. These tax rates are complicated calculations based on local tax levies and various taxing jurisdictions. Revenue collected by property taxes is distributed to the counties, municipalities, townships, school districts and various special districts according to the taxable values and total millage levied by each. Good afternoon we do apologize for the inconvenience however in effort to keep our students safe, based on impending weather conditions we will dismiss one hour early today. Morning preschool will dismiss as normal. There will be no afternoon preschool or any afternoon activities. Again, we have our student best interest in mind as we make this decision. Be safe and we will see everyone back on campus tomorrow.
