Her family enjoys hiking, motorcycle rides, and planning themed nights inspired by recently read books or beloved classics. Typically a Disney movie for family fun.
Kelly is also a talented muralist and fine artist. She loves capturing the small details in her artwork that bring a subject’s personality to life. Using mostly colored pencils, she focuses on drawing people, including actors and characters, blending her creativity with a deep appreciation for expression and storytelling. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Butler to Galion as our new 9th grade English teacher! A passionate reader and creative spirit, Mrs. Butler brings a deep love for literature into her classroom. Each summer, she enjoys exploring new teen fiction at the bookstore and carefully selects at least three titles to share with her students through the classroom library. Her creativity shines in many ways—whether she's writing, painting, gardening, crafting, or designing, she brings energy and imagination to everything she does. This year, students can look forward to enjoying a library-themed book nook she's building for the classroom!
Originally from Florida, Mrs. Butler and her family moved to Ohio in the summer of 2023 and have fallen in love with the beauty of all four seasons. Before coming to Galion, she spent nine years teaching 9th grade English in Florida. Beyond the classroom, she also has a unique background as a henna artist and face painter at Busch Gardens in Tampa, where she worked during college and school breaks. Mrs. Butler is excited to begin this new chapter in Galion and looks forward to inspiring her students through books, creativity, and connection.
